First Vet Visit

Well, I took Shan-cat to the vet on Saturday. He weighs TWELVE AND THREE QUARTERS pounds. The vet said that it’s not bad, it’s all muscle, not fat, though. Shan had to get his ears cleaned out, but there were no earmites. And he took his shots without a sounds (although he did try to jump off the table twice).

The vet was a nice guy, but he kept calling him “Shawn”. But that’s my only complaint, and it’s a very minor one. Not nearly as bad as the time I took my nephew in for his checkup and the pediatrician kept saying “she” and “her”.

It sounds like you have a very sweet, good kitty! Glad to know he’s in good shape. Big, athletic catboys are the best!

Did your catboy get a treat when you got back from the vet?

We used to give our Clawdia a little tuna after a vet visit, which always freaked her out. Of course, she was a really crabby tabby and tended to give the vet a lot of grief. She’d somehow manage to hang on to the inside of the cat carrier, and we’d all have to take turns shaking the carrier to dislodge her. Much hissing and growling would follow. Poor ole Clawida.

She’d also sulk for a few hours after we got her home… just enough to make us all feel very guilty.

I miss her.
