First woman to win Nobel Prize?

I know Marie Curie was the first to win it in physics, but was she also the first overall?

I checked both Google and the Nobel Prize website, but couldnt find anything.

Any help appreciated, as always,

I know Pearl S. Buck won the literature prize awfully early (utterly undeserved, too, I might add). Not sure of exact year.

Thank you Cranky. I checked out Pearl S. Buck (I liked that book she wrote, which I forget the name, but good enough to win this biggie? Methinks not), and she won it in 1938, but
Marie Curie won in 1903.

So far Marie is still in the lead, but if anyone can confirm it, that would be nice. I would go through and check each category, but there are a lot of names I cant determine the sex of, and I dont have the patience to wait for Goatanus to open that many new windows.

Thank you Cabbage.
Mmmm…cabbage…

She was the first person, male or female, who won the Prize a second time.
