I was just looking at some over-glasses sunglasses, partially for fishing, but also for general all-around use too. I just found some by Live Eyewear, called Vistana, which actually look nice (not fugly bulky like the ones I’m used to seeing)
Now, the lens choices are either Gray or Copper. I’ve heard alot of people say that they prefer amber, for contrast, but I’d like to know what works better when fishing. If I get these glasses, I plan on getting them in gloss black frame, of course, and in size small.
So, what colour lens do you prefer when reeling in the big one? Gray or Copper?

Just make sure they’re polarized. The rest is completely up to you. I prefer the amber color, although black and yellow have there places too.
So you might want to get one or two cheap $20 pairs and use them. They work and are cheap but they will get scratched easier and they don’t have the same penetration that the higher end glasses have.
Or you can get a more expensive pair. With the higher end glasses, you can see through the glare better and you have a more comfortable and better looking frame. They also resist scratches better than the cheap glasses. Costa Del Mars have some good glasses and look nice enough for casual wear too. I’ve also tried the Maui Jim’s but they don’t fit me too well.
The rubber part of the Costa Del Mar’s frame that rests on my ear melted in my car though.
My favorite pair of glasses for fishing is the Tsunami from H3O Polarized Sunglasses. It comes in three colors (amber, black and yellow), has big lenses for my big head, is very minimalist and light. It doesn’t hurt that you can also buy other colors replacement frames, nose pads, etc. Oh it also comes with a hard case and a great cloth for cleaning the lenses.
I’d say about 80% of the time I have the amber lenses on.
I would highly recommend the H3Os.
What I’m actually looking for is sunglasses that will go over my glasses. That’s why I’m looking at the Vistana’s, since, unlike the other ones I’ve seen, they’re not ugly.
I ended up ordering the gloss black frames with copper lenses. They’re polarized, and 100% UV protectant.
