Fitness band for monitoring sleep & does anyone have the Microsoft Band?

A two-fer.

I think I have sleep issues. At least I’m perpetually fatigued and would like to see what a band shows as far as my sleep patterns. I think seeing the effect of the 5 day international trip + ambien is my friend on my sleep. Both my siblings have sleep apnea.

What is a good band for sleep patterns? It would probably be good for my wife to try it to at some point, so a one size fits all would be nice to have.

Sorta in the same vein. Anyone have the new Microsoft band? Initial thoughts?

i have the microsoft band and I have been using to track my sleep numbers. I always knew that I was not a great sleeper, but from the data I have gathered from the band, here is the numbers that I have gathered:

I average around 1.5 hrs of restful sleep per night and about 5-6hrs of light sleep. It is telling me that I am waking up on average of 10x per night. I’m curious to see what other people are getting. I was hoping that the band is not very accurate in this sense but fro the little I’ve seen, others seem to be getting 4+ hrs of restful sleep. I wish microsoft would show context with the numbers the band generates. Anyone else been monitoring their sleep, and can you post your findings for a comparison?

I have the fitbit, and I think it’s lying to me! It says I have an efficient sleep most nights.

Ah well.

I dn’t have one of these and I’m confused about how they measure sleep. It notes your movements and classifies between “light” sleep and “deep” sleep, with the latter being immobile. And it only categorizes deep sleep as “restful”?

Now everything I’ve read says its normal for adults t spend about 20% of their sleep time in deep, or immobile, sleep, aka Stage 3 REM. So wouldn’t 80% light sleep be a perfectly normal reading? Wouldn’t 80% deep sleep indicate a disorder?
