My new laptop frequently gives me the “blue screen of death” with an error identified by the code “Bad Pool Caller”. Googling this error message, I found it is a common problem with Windows 10 causing the processor to “call a thread thread that does not exist or is in use”…whatever all that means, if anything. While Googling has provided steps to fix this problem, I have just now experienced for the first time that my PC is stuck in an apparent endless loop. Every time the PC reboots (on its own) to clear this error (as has self-corrected the problem in the past up until now), the PC crashes again providing the same blue screen and error code.
How can I break the apparent endless loop so that I can administer the necessary steps to fix the PC? Should I start in “safe mode”? Is there another option? (Also, please remind me what F-key will allow me to start in safe mode.)
All help appreciated!
