Fixing an old Atari, looking for a few parts

I’m working on an old Atari for some fun, pretty good condition besides a few little things. (For the hell of it and for my own fun I called their 800 # on the back of the atari, It didn’t work)

Well I’m looking for two pieces, the first more than the other.

  • The TV/computer switch with the two “Y” shaped connectors
  • The internal component which is the receptor for the power (the female end piece to the AC adapter)

If anyone could point me in the right direction I’d appreciate it.

I’d look here. Great. Now you’ve got me all misty-eyed for my old ST. Atari had a much better processor than IBM back in the mid-80s, how the hell did they get beaten out so badly?

Flea markets are where we go to find replacement parts for ours.

Actually, up to a few years ago (1999) when we got Sega Genesis, Atari was as modern as we got. Now we have Play Station, which I have yet to play.

Nothing beats Break-Out on Atari.

No way!

Star Raiders rules!

I’ve got the switch box you’re looking for. Heck, I think it’s from the Atari, maybe my old Vic20. If you want it, you can have it.

ebay.com usually has anything for it. I saw a package of old consoles & games that was $10,000 it was so big the guy said
you have to pick it up or shipping would be $1000.00

The TV switch I’m told you can buy at Radio Shack. I’ve never bought one but that’s what they say you can do. Probably buy the other piece there too.

Oh and rjung yep Star Raiders was the best.

We have an old ATari in the attic - email me and I’ll get up there this weekend and look - my email is in my profile…
