Flash experts - very technical question - pls help!

I’m actually not the coder, nor do I know all that much about Flash, but I thought I’d turn to my favorite resource and see if anyone can help.

We have a dynamically-driven Flash template movie player that functions just fine in PC, but won’t play the loaded movie in Mac platform (all Flash players are Flash 6).

It works like this: On our website (an advertising agency), we keep a portfolio of some of our TV ads. The template we have includes our logo, spinning once, then migrates to the top of the window. At that point, there is a call to load movie based upon the user’s click - we have passed an ID variable to the template Flash movie, which will call the correct TV ad to load. The TV ad plays within the stage of the template movie, so we can keep certain things like our logo at the top, and control panel at the bottom.

You can see an example on our website http://www.cronin-co.com (You need to have Javascript on - yes, I am aware that it’s an issue). Click on the link in the top left quadrant. This one works in Mac because it’s a full movie, and doesn’t involve a load movie call to a database.
The movies are encoded for Flash. And they play fine as .swf files on a Mac.
So - we can’t figure out, and don’t see anything in any knowledge bases, about why Macs have problems with passing a variable for a load movie call in Flash (if that, in fact, is the problem).

Is this a known problem, or is my Flash coder not doing something correctly (he’s pretty good, mind you).

Thanks!

PS: the rest of the movies on the site are currently just .mpgs, which is why we are trying to build this tool.

Seems to work for me (Mac OS 9.1, IE 5.0, Flash plug-in 6.0 r65)

Have you tried the We’re Here forums?

I would suggest checking out http://www.flashkit.com it’s a fantastic flash resource.

also take a look at this: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/download/deployment_kit it’s dedicated for making sure Flash developers create content that works across all platforms.
