usually the flashblock white list has wildcards
*.youtube.com
that won’t work with news.yahoo.com I don’t want all of yahoo running flash
*.yahoo.com That would grant Flash to all of yahoo?
tried adding this to the whitelist and it still gives me the question, do I want to allow Flash to run? then the video won’t load. yahoo news videos never seem to run unless I turn off flashblock.
any solutions?
heres a example news video
I get that let flash run question even with news.yahoo.com in my flashblock whitelist
yahoo never runs the video even after I say yes to the question
Yahoo’s videos are hosted on the yimg.com server. You should whitelist that domain but not any yahoo.com domains to achieve your desired goal.
whitelisting yimg.com helped. it tried to load the video this time. but still got a black screen. something else is still preventing yahoo news from loading the video.
Do you have javascript blocked? The only other thing I can think of is to whitelist l.yimg.com, s1.yimg.com, and d.yimg.com (or just *.yimg.com) as well.
There are some problems in technology relating to the use of free, unsupported, and uncommon software where there is literally no one who can help you. You may have to solve your issues yourself. You might want to search for a support forum—this isn’t software that I’ve used before.
ETA: and try whitelisting yahoo.com, though I don’t think that will help.
I learned about Flashblock here. A bunch of posters recommended it. Maybe they’ll be along in the morning to post.
last resort, I’ll whitelist *.yahoo.com
