Hi all. As part of work I’m required to undergo performance testing at least four times a year and all or part of each session involves oral or written testing of my knowledge. I have never been a great studier but I’ve found that using flashcards, ie bits of card with a question on one side and an answer on the other, is a great tool for reminding of specifics such as numbers and refreshing my understanding of things that I don’t normally think about on a daily basis.
For several years I’ve used a PC program called Recall Plus to do this rather than going to the hassle of making real cards. The problem is that it’s not a great program to use, it can be glitchy and over complicates the process of making questions and answers. It’s also not easy to just test yourself on an entire topic as it is designed to test you itself on a gradually reducing basis, so if you want to be tested on everything for revision, you have to tell it that you haven’t been tested before which makes it start from scratch. But this is clunky, and it’s not intuitive as to how to do it.
So to get to the point of thread, I’m looking for a replacement program. For bonus points I want it to go on my Palm Treo Pro phone as well which has a touch screen and runs Windows Mobile 6.
Some requirements:
[ol][li]I don’t mind paying a little bit of money for something that is good quality.[/li][li]I want it to be simple to use.[/li][li]It needs to let me have a lengthy paragraph as an answer, not just a short sentence.[/li][li]Ideally it will let me virtually put aside cards that I’ve got wrong so I know which ones to test again, but I don’t necessarily want it to do this automatically.[/li][li]It needs to run on Windows XP and Windows Mobile 6[/li][/ol]
I come to you Dopers for recommendations because a lot of the websites for this sort of program read like a scam.
Edit: Clarification after Googling, I’m not looking for a program that will make flashcards for printing, I want it to be all done on the PC or phone.
