Robert Taylor is wearing this flight jacket in Flight Command (1940). I’m not familiar with pre-war jackets. It kind of looks like a USAAF A-2, but the pockets are different and it has lapels. It’s obviously not a Navy G-1. I think I’ve seen a pre-war Navy jacket that looks like it, but I’m not finding it now. ID please?
My semi-informed opinion based on a bunch of Google searches: It’s a prop, a fashion jacket with a name patch sewed on it for legitimacy.
