Flight Sim nuts - MS Flight Sim 2002 is a must buy!

I own (or have owned) every civil and combat flight sim sold on the PC in the past 5 years.

As far as a Civy flight sim goes, FS2K2 is by far the best sim I’ve seen on a PC yet.

FU2 and 3 were okay, but there was not nearly enough of a variety of aircraft or areas to fly in.

X-Plane, well, I had hope but I am unimpressed. It still has a loyal following but I think its starting to show its age.

Then came this. FS2K2 has some of the best graphics I’ve seen in a flight sim. You can literally see the scenery from 150 miles away now. Sitting on the runway in Vancouver I could see Mt. Baker in the distance. It was great! The ATC is the best I’ve played with in a sim. The weather is modeled quite well. There is finally other air traffic. It talks to the ATC as well. The gates are modeled with the jetways. The attention to detail is just great.

I have barely gotten into it yet, but so far I’m impressed. Microsoft, you’ve done a good job with this product. I’m very happy with my purchase. I highly recomend any sim-head purchase this game now.

How fast is your computer, and how well does the game run?

I switched over to X-Plane a while ago, and never regretted it. The program is much less buggy and easier to use, and the flight dynamics are way better. But I’d be willing to try this new one…

I’m using a 1.2Ghz Athlon T-Bird, 384MB RAM and a Voodoo 5500AGP.

People with P3-500s and TNT2s are having good success with it as well.

There’s a tasteless 9/11 joke here somewhere.
