Can any dopers that reside in or around Flint shed some light on this “contaminated water” issue going on?
Inquiring minds want to know. Sorry for your water woes, I need a new well pump so i can kind of empathize

The quick summary, from what I’ve read, is that Flint started using the Flint river as a water source. This water wasn’t treated correctly, and it dissolves lead from city water pipes and lead solder in home plumbing. Since the lead isn’t coming from the river or ground water, I think it’s nothing for you to be worried about if you’re getting water form a well.
