A short phrase like this one cannot be copyrighted, but according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, this phrase has been trademarked by The Mohammad Ali Family Trust.

Thanks - I think we will be safe in our useage, we are attributing the quote, are not a competing product and using the phrasing as a description..

The quote was used in an advertisement for Brut cologne back in the 70s. “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The good smell of Brut and Muhammed Ali”. May be some legal problems there.

Ali was the official Brut spokesman at the time. He was paid for his endorsement.
