"Floor is Lava" - am I being whooshed?

Apparently the fake lava is a considerable accomplishment, in terms of creating a substance that is safe, glowing, and has proper viscosity.

To me it looks nothing like genuine lava, but I actually know what the real stuff looks like (it’s a perk of living on the Big Island). For a goofy TV show, it’s fine.

After watching the trailer, I thought I might watch it if it was real lava.

You left out ‘very very’.

No lava, but lots of safety liquid.

My wife and I found the whole thing to be stupid, silly, fun. We loved it, even though the contestants obviously had had some exposure to the course and they seemed a bit manipulated to solve the puzzle a certain way. I’d have liked to see a bit more pushing, like you can only be on one element (or the starting line) for a certain amount of time. There was too much standing around.

I also thought that the trophy being a lava lamp to be great. I’d have liked to see the folks that dropped into the lava show up drenched or slimed, or something. The in-studio stuff was so obviously done at a totally different time and place that is ruined the illusion of the competition.

That’s already a show. It’s called Monday Night Football.

My 5 year old loves it, so maybe that is the age group they are aiming at. I gave up after five minutes when one of the contestants was concerned about a 2’ jump to a couch. None of these people would make it off of the starting platform on Ninja Warrior.

She has also been watching an international show similar to Ninja Warrior where the contestants are quite talented but the commentators are as annoying AF. There are 8-10 different sets of commentators covering different languages.

We have been letting her watch far too much junk during this pandemic.
