) I happened to be flipping through the channels and stumbled across the movie and they were showing the sequence where Indy’s trying to climb up the ropebridge and the bad guys arches are firing arrows at him. I could swear that I saw one arrow bounce off Indy’s back. Did I really see that? It looked like it hit him on the small of the back, just above the belt line.
I can almost believe an arrow bouncing. It’s the boulders bouncing off his head that gets me. These aren’t 1930s serials here. A good size rock to the head goes thru the skull, not off it.
I know this one. I remember seeing and thinking the same thing when I watched the movie a long time ago, fortunately I could rewind.
The arrow hits a pole next to Indy and opposite the camera, this gives the impression that it bounces off of him. I don’t have the movie now to confirm though.
Actually, I seem to recall that the entire point of the movies were that there were supposesed to be 1930’s serials, or at least that’s what Spielberg said, IIRC.
I saw the same thing yesterday. In fact, I thought I saw one of them stay in his back. The camera angle switched, and the arrow was stuck next to him, not in him, but I thought it was a pretty crappy edit.
