Flying tomorrow with a headcold and sinus blockage...any recommendations?

Thanks for asking. I took my flight on Thursday as scheduled. I was so sick the night before that I woke up late and didn’t have time to get to the pharmacy. I bought some DayQuil at the airport because that was all they had available. I simply risked it. I got very lucky. I guess that the congestion wasn’t as bad as I thought. I did arm myself with your advice about pulling the earlobes down and yawning, which I did on several occasions. I also think that the DayQuil helped a bit. But no real pain, so I was very lucky. I got a lot better in Florida and flew back with no problems. But thanks to everyone for trying to help. I’ll know better next time.

You were very lucky.

Once I came back from British Columbia and the flight made a stop in Winnipeg. I had a cold and was clogged up when I got on the plane, but I had no idea of the hell I was in for. Up… down… up… down. It was like daggers in my ears.

I asked the flight attendant for some kind of pain reliever, but, this being an Extreme Budget Airline (Canada 3000–“the pack-em-in airline”–the seats were so close together that my knees touched the seat in front of me), she had nothing. I just had to bear it and hope something didn’t pop and leave me deaf or worse.
