Follow-up on 'Barnaby', world's first horse with prosthetic leg?

This was a story that ran around 2003. Barnaby, a horse in New Zealand, I think, had to have about nine inches of his leg removed. A vet came up with a type of prosthetic that looked like an equine Flexfoot.

I haven’t been able to find any update since 2003, though, so there’s no indication of how long he was able to live with the prosthetic, or whether he might still be alive.

Anyone???

ETA: No biggie, but I actually meant this for GQ.

If you are referring to Barnaby the first horse with a prosthetic limb he lived in England and was stabled at the yard where i horse ride. i was a good friend of his owner and adored Barnaby, he was a wonderful horse. He enjoyed life quite comfortably with his false limb and was immaculately cared for by Jan his owner. Unfortunately, Barnaby died about 3 years ago due to complications which had nothing to do with his leg. He had a fall which could have happened to any horse and it is believed that he injured his back or hips as he struggled to get up/could not stand for very long after this incident. Jan never gave up on her beautiful horse.

Cool! Thanks for dropping in. Pip Pip Cheerio!
