It’s possible these are a regional thing. I haven’t done any research, but it just seems like the kind of thing that would be. If you’ve never had one, imagine it was possible to boil down a Snickers bar until it’s about the size of your thumb; it’s like that. Very peanut-y and very chewy. Covered in chocolate but you can’t really taste it.
