I am reminded of the two rules of eating wild mushrooms:

  1. You can eat any mushrooms you find in the wild.
  2. You can eat some mushrooms you find in the wild a second time.

Types of inedible mushrooms

  1. Psilocybin
  2. Death Cap
  3. Conocybe filaris
  4. Deadly Dapperling
  5. Cortinarius (most of the genus)
  6. Inky Cap

Not poisonous by itself. But it contains a compound that reacts with alcohol. If you drink any alcohol within a week of eating these mushrooms, you’ll start vomiting.

Back in the 70’s, the store my dad ran had one of those chest soda bottle dispensers. Every once in a while, it’d have a few bottles of Big Red and every once in a while my dad would give me a dime to buy one. Loved them.

I tried one again last year. Still delicious, but couldn’t finish it as it was way too sweet.
