[OOG]
There is a food cart near my workplace that serves up Chicago-style hot dogs. I’ve never had the gumption to try it, but someday… They also serve up bacon and avocado slices on request (I’ve had that, it’s delicious).

Originally created for and served on bratwurst sold at Milwaukee County Stadium, there’s no reason you can’t put it on hot dogs as well.
And while I could tell you what’s in it, if I did then it wouldn’t be a secret any longer!

OP here. Just interjecting to remark how uninspiring these answers are. I live in an area with four food cart camps within a mile. They offer some unique and weird food combinations, like cookie burgers and Sri Lankan dishes.

Pretzels, hot dogs, and ice cream is as exotic as it gets in my neck of the woods.

I don’t recall ever seeing one in the wild. To me they are only where Lennie Briscoe eats his hot dogs on Law and Order.

I apologize for being provincial. Where I’m at, food carts are as ubiquitous as Starbucks and homeless camps. I wonder if it’s a west coast cosmopolitan thing?

We’ve got a taco truck on every corner here in Houston, as well as groupings in lots of places. Not “carts” really - though sometimes I will see guys on bicycle “carts” that sell ice cream, water, etc.

Yeah, 99% of street food here in the midwest is sold via food trucks. Carts are extraordinarily rare things. You might see one at an event in an outdoor space like an art fair in a park, but yeah, otherwise they’re nearly nonexistent.

Only food truck I’m familiar with is the “roach coach” that used to go from pier to pier at the sub base.
