I ate these on Christmas morning. Mom would bring us our stockings in bed to keep us occupied while dad set up the presents under the tree. It’s the only time I ever had food in bed.

I had them regularly as a kid growing up near Chesapeake Bay, usually provided by one of my uncles. It dawns on me that in thirty years of fishing and crabbing on the Texas coast I never once thought about pursuing soft-crabs.
