Foods I miss. Name yours!

Yup, they were called Royals.

I seem to recall those myself, but I could not have given you their name.

I miss Tootsie Pop Drops. They were bite-sized Tootsie Pop candies that were sold in the 70’s and came in grape, strawberry, cherry, orange, and chocolate. I used to love them, I was always buying rolls of them.

Mint M&Ms. They came out the same time as the almond and peanut butter versions, but quickly disappeared.

Also, Clearly Canadian.

It was infected with thetans.

Wal-Mart always has an abundant stock of these. They have Otter Pops ($3.68 for a 100 ct. box last I checked), plus they sell a generic brand that comes in a red mesh bag ($2.50/36 ct.) and a Hawaiian Punch brand ($2.89/27 ct.) that is packaged the same way. The latter two come in larger sized tubes.

Why yes, I have bought a few of these.

Well, I’ll be…

from the Carnation Instant Breakfast site… all these are available~

Everyone seems to be talking candies or chocolates.

The one I miss is Noodle Roni Romanoff Flavor.

No pasta and cheese dish that I’ve found has matched that heavenly flavor.

Speaking of noodles, I miss the best, most well-rounded freezer meal I’ve ever seen.

I forget which company, but it had these ingredients:

Pasta
Delicious cheese
Real Bacon crumbles
Chicken chunks
Tiny tomato chunks (was not originally in package, but it was always on the photo as a “serving suggestion” so they decided to put it in, I guess people got confused?_

Everyone was always commenting on how good it smelled after I nuked it, and it tasted as good as it smelled. Plus, it’s the only frozen meal I’ve seen that isn’t insanely high in either sugar or salt (it was salty, but only around 2X or less than what it should have relative to calories, most frozen meals are more than that!)

Magic Pantry stew. Surprisingly tasty, and simple as all get out.

Our house always had the “off” flavors sitting around forever. My mom was a big fan of the variety pack. I’m all about the chocolate, myself.

Try your local Mexican grocery store (if you have one…it’s a little different other places than it is here on the border, I realize) and check out Sidral Mundet. Excellent apple soda. There’s another one that’s decent, too. But Sidral Mundet takes the cake.

The list is endless, since I have the freakish ability to cause any foodstuff and some restaurants to cease production or operations not long after I decide that I am absolutely crazy about it.

Latest entry: Turkish Pistachios from Trader Joes. Amazing…and gone almost as soon as they showed up.

Trader Joes inparticular drives me crazy because they will carry somethin for awhile, then stop when I hook into it, then explain that it just wasn’t selling well. Oh, classic heirloom pork and the most amazing pistachios I’ve ever tasted no one appreciates but those nasty power bars, fish jerky and various fake meat products are flying off the shelves? WTF?

Wil Wright’s lime sherbet

Zups by the ZOo steak sandwiches

Sara Lee all-chocolate poundcake. (Used to make 1 inch slices and put a little butter on 'em, slip 'em under the broiler and just watch the pounds pile on…I didn’t get this ass munching cheetos, no sir.)

One of mine is making a comeback, the delectable Wispa bar

I sort of miss Pyramints, a thick dark chocolate pyramid with mint fondant inside.

Damn, I got all excited until I looked at your location! :stuck_out_tongue:

(I lived in England for 2 years as a kid and I loved Wispa bars.)

Sounds like we need a Candy and Soda Exchange…
