Any foosers here? I have a question.
Suggest a foosball table for me and two kids, son 13 and daughter 11. 3,2,1 - GO!
Cmon guys, nobody plays foosball?
Well, I did a research on my own as well and Google was my best friend on this one. So, I have found a site about foosball table (wasn’t that hard actually) and I think I have found a table for them both. Now, I am not sure how to post a picture so I will link it here foosballzone.com. It is Garlando G-500 Indoor Foosball Table, in the middle of the site. It looks good and sounds good.
I will give my pat answer that, while not always absolutely right, is never wrong: get a Tornado.
They are heavy and cost a fortune new, but if you want to actually play foosball with any amount of skill, they are the table to get. You can usually find used ones in the $500 range, with the added bonus that after you play on it for five or seven years, you will still be able to sell it to someone else for $500.
Really? Thanks man I will definitely think about that!
I’d argue that the best foosball table for the money is Warrior Professional. Yes, we’ve all heard how people like Tornado blah blah (very similar situation to iphone elitists who just love the brand for it being ‘luxury’ category), but I can’t see how you can recommend wasting $1,5k on Tornado to complete casuals and say that it’s the only table to perfect their skills. You can train shots basically on any shitty table, and most people buying foosball tables are just casuals who are not interested in professional play. Now you add that Warrior is ITSF recognized and all praise people give to Tornado goes out of the window
It isn’t a luxury thing at all. Like it or not, it’s the table that is played on by pretty much all the competent players in the USA. If the only cars available were stick shift, would you teach your kid to drive on an automatic?
You can find a used coin-op machine for 500$. If you decide it’s not for you, there is a market for reselling it. Why waste 249.99 on some Sears piece of junk?
I opened this thread just to say: Tornado!
I haven’t played much recently, but when I was majorly into it some 20-odd years ago, the introduction of Tornado tables was a major game-changer.
A game of foosball puts the table through a surprising amount of wear and tear. The tables my dorm used had been heavy and solid for their day, but they had developed numerous worn, warped and ragged patches, and men were breaking frequently enough that we had to forbid pinch shots.
The Tornado tables were so much flatter, smoother, harder and faster, that it was almost an entirely different game. It was like going from playing street hockey on a gravel road to skating on a manicured rink.
