Football pool quandary

Our office football pool has run into a little snag

We have a 3 way tie for a winner this week. The tiebreaker was supposed to be closest to total game score without going over. All three players went over.

Various suggestions have been put forth:

Even split

Closest score that went over

Nobody wins roll it over
IMHO if all three went over, the “tiebreaker” has effectively failed and we have a solid tie. Split the money 3 ways and be done with it. Of course greed has to rear its ugly head and the guy who is closest is making a HUGE stink.

In the opinion of the teeming millions…what is the most fair answer.

Well, sounds to me like you guys did a terrible job of coming up with a tie breaker! I say go with a 3 way split, as none of you provided a satisfactory tiebreaking answer.

Personally, I’d roll it over, but there is no provision in your rules for any of the options. In fairness it should probably be split 3 ways, but I love the “roll overs.”
