Favorite and least favorite song, album, and video.
My favorites:
Song: “The Name of the Game” - has a very Beatlesque arrangement
Album: ABBA: features “SOS”
Video: Eeek! All their videos were pretty, um, odd. I’ll say “Ring, RIng” since it’s one of the few times you see them with their backing musicians. Oh, yeah, Agnetha’s red hot pants are nice, too.
Least favorites:
Song: “Head Over Heels”
Album: The Visitors: the title track and “When All is Said and Done” are good, but the rest sounds like filler from Super Trouper.
Video: “That’s Me”: re-uses bits from previous videos. Also, could Frida be more stoned?
Odds and Ends:
Like them or not, Agnetha has one helluva voice. Check out the second time she sings “No one to hear my prayers” on “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”. She nails that note to wall.
The acoustic guitar work in “SOS”.
The overlapping vocals in “I Am the City” and “Under Attack”.

[li]On And On And On[/li][li]I Am The City[/li][li]Hi Opal! Like ABBA? [/li][li]Tiger[/li][li]The Way That Old Friends Do (wrong title?)[/li][/ul]
I haven’t seen my parents old ABBA albums in years, so I have no idea which album is my favorite (I have both ABBA Gold’s instead)
And I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video…
But my absolute favorite song is Rock Me. Haven’t heard it since I was a kid - but it was always my favorite.
I also like One of Us.
Song: SOS, definitely. One of their better tunes that did not become One Of The Classic Tunes Of The Seventies. That, and “Waterloo,” which I rather liked for some reason.
Album: Voulez-Vous, the Abba contribution to World Disco. I also liked Abba: The Album, which came out around the time of Abba: The Movie.
Video: I have never seen any of their videos. For that matter, I’ve never seen their movie, either…
Least favorites:
Song: “King Kong Song” may have been the worst thing they ever did… like a novelty hit that just didn’t jell. I have also learned to hate “Dancing Queen” after hearing it on a million compilation tapes.
Album: The Visitors, I think. Title track was okay, but, yeah, the rest of it did sound pretty homogenized.
Favorite - Take A Chance On Me
Least Liked - Fernando
Fernando always reminded me of that slow song thrown into a Disney movie, I hated as a kid. I’d glance over at my Grandma and she’d be digging it while the rest of us squirmed and called for, “More little things hitting each other!”
