In 1994, the Algerian Armed Islamic Group hijacked an Air France Airbus intending to do exactly what is depicted in the linked photoshop. Fortunately, their plan failed.
Yeah, real fucking funny. I’m rolling in the aisles here.

I’d heard on several occasions about morons who actually believed Saddam Hussein organized the WTC attacks and that this war was about seeking justice, but I’d never actually seen one of you idiots in action. Thank you for the novel experience.
And raisinbread, your color is an indication of the lack of blood reaching your brain. Fuck off, you syphillitic little jackhole.
See more fun with the pony that knows only one trick:

Having read other of elfje’s posts, I think posting the image, albeit perhaps ill-judged, was done in an ironic stylee. I.e. I don’t think elfje is anti-French, but rather anti-anti-French.
Zabali_Clawbane he’s Irish BTW.
Some poeple on this board have given the impression that they would like this shite. Now do you see how your bullshit makes you look?
And he’s a she.
Doh!
Wait, people, don’t you see? It’s funny! You see, when those towelheads fly into French buildings, the US won’t be supporting France - just like France didn’t support us when…
um, nevermind.
But still, you have to admit that it’s kinda funny how quickly they lost against the German blitzkrieg! I mean, what kind of nation would be that cowardly?
Wait, now that I think about it, I seem to remember from my history classes that Nazi Germany occupied some other countries than France, too. Odd. Still, way to surrender (just because they’re cowards!) and get a few hundreds of thousands of your men killed, champs! LOL!
Funny? All that death was a side splitting jaunt!
Given the French doctrine of using armor as support to the infantry, and having indecisive and plodding commanders, they were not going to win against the Germans. Once the Maginot Line was flanked quickly, given French strategic doctrine, the war was bound to be lost. If that is the case, and I concede it’s just my opinion, why continue to fight?
By the French surrendering, Paris came out of the war as just about the only European capital without catastrophic damage.
So, in summation, surrendering can work, sort of. It’s success is contingent upon regaining control of your nation of course. The whole Orwellian permanent boot in the face conundrum throws some doubt on a mass surrender policy, but that’s way off topic.
I love sick humour – bad taste rocks. Really, when it comes to comedy I have no taboos – if something is funny then it needs no other purpose. YMMV, I do not give a flying toss.
But fuck me sideways if this link isn’t the lamest piece of crap that ever crawled out from under a URL.
Christ! I feel tainted just pointing this out. Fuckwit.
Not to mention the courage of the French resistance as well. How many Allied pilots were saved by them.
Not to be a rah-rah France guy, but the board is about fighting ignorance- not reveling in it.
yojimbo, firstly if standing up for what I believe in constitutes bullshit, then I will admit to it. Secondly,I don’t care if he’s from the fourth moon of Saturn, what he did was beyond poor taste. (His location says he’s “At work again”) It seems that more than one person that has posted on this thread, doesn’t find it funny at all.
I will admit to erring in my judgement,I had thought only Americans were capable of being so tasteless. I truly believed that Europeans had gotten through that stage. I actually believed that Europeans had some sensitivities, and a true love of peace and lack of bloodshed. Something about bombs destroying many of the towns in European countries not that many decades ago. Silly me! :smack: How could I be so innocent?
Thank you for showing me that I still had niavite.
I could comment that the stereotype of people from the U.K. being bigoted about everyone else who isn’t a citizen of the U.K. being true, but… Oh,wait I just did, didn’t I? You do realize, that you have planted seeds of doubt, in my mind at least? I had gotten to the point of completely discounting that stereotype, until I saw your post stating that he’s Irish. I realize not all citizens of the U.K. are this way,but I will be much more wary in my encounters with them in the future. (Just as I’m wary of new people I meet in this country, because I’m not certain if they will accept me,due to many of my personal beliefs.) Until I see that they do not feel that way. I do believe it’s possible for such a disease to run rampant in a country, and infect many of it’s citizens. Some days it certainly seems to be the case in this country. I remain hopeful, though.
Finally,my post was addressing all those who actually got some amusement out of that idea/picture. The outrage at people who blindly, and ignorantly continue in that mindset, remains. Especially those who work to spread it. I will continue to tell these people off,and let them know that such behavior is completely unacceptable. (i.e. “Not fit for company”) I fight the spread of such diseased thinking every time I encounter it. Sadly,it’s oozed into more crevices than I had anticipated.
Zabali_Clawbane, just to correct some factual errors in your post:
I agree with most of your sentiments WRT the picture.
Carry on.
Zabali, I don’t think the second part of yojimbo’s post was directed at you. I read it as being directed at some of the more extreme French-bashers around the place (I could be wrong - yojimbo will probably be along in a while to clear that up). It seems to me that the part of the post directed at you only related to the fact that elfje is not from the US (as jjimm points out, she’s not from the UK either).
And I also agree with you (albeit perhaps less stridently) about the picture, which I am certain was posted ironically.
manwithaplan is correct. The first part was a FYI the 2nd part wasn’t about you in anyway shape or form
thank you manwithaplan and jjim, yes, that link was posted with ironic intent. I posted another link with a pic of Bush, about 3 mins after I posted the French one.
The pic itself is atrocious, ofcourse, but I can remember how quickly jokes were being made about the Concorde crashing in Paris 2 years ago. Humour (albeit very very tasteless, indeed) is one of the ways people deal with a disaster.
As far as I can see from that picture, it says more about “how” and “what” Bush is, than it does about the French.
Yes, I had posted this because there seemed to be an awful lot of anti-french feeling around (which I definitely don’t share, BTW), and I thought, hey, they’re entitled to their opinion, and maybe they want to see this.
My mistake, and one that I won’t be making again.
So, my most humble apologies to the people who were offended by the post.
BTW the OP is elfje who has a location of Dublin, Ireland . The poster with the location of “At work again” is elf6c
Close but no cigar. How’s the weather in Kansas btw. I always wanted to go there I hear Canada is very nice
Yeah… that’s pretty fucking stupid…
I also was wondering where I was when Iraq hit us with a terrorist attack by plane…
Thanks!
Other differences:
I am a “he”
Only half-Irish (maybe a tad less- I have no clue what the other half is- Mom was adopted).
Based in U.S.
There are a few other elf_____ named posters around here for some reason. I put no thought to my handle when I signed up, as I just wanted to be able to run a search. Now after a couple of years as cryptic as it is, might as well stick with it.
