For something sorta bad, it worked out about as well as I could hope.

I get to start off my week with shame because I skipped church. Gotta go find a well-fitting handbasket. Do they come in pastels?

I had a nice weekend.

High points:
Went to see Batman Begins, and then to dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack
Went to a book sale - but at the very end, so only had 10 minutes, and just picked up some cheezy romances. But I supported the library, so that was good.

Low point:
Having to keep an eye on my cat’s pee. Good side - the blood seems to be gone as of tonight. Cat is a cone-head though.

Right not I’m watching the Next Food Network star. Go Dan & Steve!

My day at work was odd. Lots of odd things happened. The oddest was that someone indirectly accused me of racism. Not very indirectly, either. He was paying for some books with an old fifty, so I checked it, and he said aggressively, ‘I hope you check all your customers’ money”. He was black, about fifty-sixty. I said yes, and that there were a lot of problems with counterfeiting, so we checked all fifties. He said he hoped so, because he didn’t want me to be doing it because of his race.

I said I wasn’t.

He replied that he got hassled a lot for being black, and that lots of people thought he was suspicious because of his colour. He also said there was widespread discrimination against blacks. I said I guessed there was, in my best non-inflammatory general agreeing tone.

He said, “Oh, I don’t ‘guess’, I know! It’s a fact! You believe me!”

That’s too bad, said I, bagging his books.

Then he asked for some bookmarks. I asked him how many he wanted, and he said maybe a few, so I put three in his bag. He said, “You’re being stingy with them. How about you give me three, because I bought three books.”

I said that I had, in fact, given him three bookmarks. He said I hadn’t. I showed him that there were three in his bag. He left, telling me that he didn’t have the right machines for counterfeiting. Gahh.

Why are people insane?

I am myself light coffee colour. So far in life this had protected me from accusations of racism, but now the effect appears to have worn off.

Yeah, I’m the same way…I’ve had people be racist to me & my SO (Chinese) but I haven’t ever gotten accused of it.

And hey, I’m light coffee too!

Dan and Steve are two of my favorites, but I think they won’t make it. I’m pushing for Hans, who I think will be able to go all the way with it.

(I also like how they’re like “Michael! Hans! Danandsteve!” when they list people)
