For something sorta bad, it worked out about as well as I could hope.

You know, I didn’t realize that this was the MMP. Otherwise I would have read it sooner. I feel like such a loser for coming into the thread late. :frowning:

And I feel like a loser for quoting swampbear again, but it has to be done, because if I don’t do it, someone else will.

I haven’t yet received an invitation.

Okay, my friends, here is a link to a picture of my daughter in her first formal. I didn’t do any editing. Maybe I’ll play with it later and zoom it in some more.

Ah - the lovely Miss Tater (she looks to beautiful to call her a Tater Tot) is truly a joy to behold. She’s a cutie! Wish I had worn a dress like that to my formal. As it was I wore a white, shirred dress that I’m sure did not flatter (I do NOT want to find the pictures of that). And my date ate the centerpiece. And yes - the centerpiece was flowers.

Today was a “in the mood for eating everything within reach” day. Luckily I don’t keep anything in my house to snack on, or it could be worse. I’ll keep myself in denial, and say it’s to get energy up for cleaning for the cleaners (they come tomorrow).

My cat Jody is all confuzzled. I think she wonders where Sunshine went. Sunshine was very sweet this morning - curled up next to me under the covers. The digging her claws in to me while curled up was not quite as sweet. And the poor thing - she’s been to the vet so many times, this morning when I put her in her carrier, she didn’t even fight me like she usually does.

Oh, yes - her surgery was for a bladder stone, for those who missed it. I pick her up Friday, and I will get to see the stone then, which I actually think is pretty cool.

Just booked a flight for the 4th!

Susan

Taters the tot looks a like like you! That means she’s purty. That’s a very nice picture. Is that a little nekkid cherub statue in the background?

s_f where ya goin’ on the fourth? I’m stayin’ home. My plans are to spend three days laid out upon my floaty chair in the pool whilst quaffing various libations.

chaoticdonkey you silly stalker! Stalkers don’t wait for invites, they just sneak in so they can, well, stalk.

My, my, taters, Ms. Taters looks very chic and sophisticated. She’s lovely! Nice lawn, too.

swampy, don’t forget to fill the pool with burly men. I think there’s a rule about that sommers.

Me, I’m not plannin’ anything special for the 4th. I’ll prolly just use the extra day off to clean out Lil Lestat’s room now that he’s moved out. A few dozen lawn bags aughta do er. Hmmm, fcm, if I put candles around a tire rim, would you accept that as part of your chandelier collection???

Tupug

Your daughter looks lovely and very grown-up, Taters.

It’s Gay Pride Week here in Toronto, swampy. I think you ought to do something to celebrate.

I have awoken! Time to do everything I didn’t do yesterday because I went to bed really, really early. I will pretend I feel full of energy and not at all stiff. Oof. Yesterday’s dance teacher quite likes killer leg exercises. Ow.

Thanks for the offer. I think things are going to get better. Maybe. Soon. And usually it is a good place to work. But managers who do everything possible to avoid conflict aren’t really the best managers in the world. Sometimes conflict resolution is part of their job! But at least I get a trip to Vegas on the company in September. That makes up for a lot of crap. :stuck_out_tongue:

Everybody’s been talking about Penzey’s this week. We don’t have them around here, but as part of my 4th of July trip out to Wisconsin to visit KeithT, he’s going to take me to Penzey’s. Given all the good stuff people have been saying about Penzey’s, I’m really excited. Oh yeah, and I’m excited about seeing KeithT too. And I’m going to meet his parents. And his cat. I think I’m going to have to work harder to win the cat’s approval than the parents’.

FCM, aren’t you glad that my idea to expand your chandelier collection is going over so well?? I’m going to have to send her a LOT of chocolate to make up for this, aren’t I?

Oh and Taters, your daughter looks lovely. Boy, I wish I had somewhere to that I needed to dress up all purty. I never out grew loving to play dress-up!

Indeed! I think I shall do ACBG in honor of Gay Pride Week.

Okay, whoever didn’t see that one coming, raise your hand. Be honest now.

swampy, be sure to stop off for some champagne.

I didn’t see it coming at all. Just ran right over me with it’s big rainbow colored tires. Naughty swampy, you made me snortle.

Your girl looks quite lovely, Taters. Sure wish I’d looked even half as nice at my prom. Peach ruffles, blurg.

Good ideaPuggy, but take the tire chandelier to the next level, FCM deserves only the best, ya know. You need to turn that tire inside out, cut the top in a zig zag, and paint it. Ooh! Gold, paint it gold to match the others in the collection! Whaddaya think?

I wore a 14th century parti-coloured cotehardie with silver hip belt to my first prom, and a black velvet dress my boyfriend made for me to my second. I looked spiffy at both. Quasi-Daughter wore a vinyl cheung-sam to Driving Husband’s prom. She looked very goth.

I am right now playing music that would kill Mr. Lissar. It’s The Best of Bellydancing. I don’t believe the title. I like my Arabic pop better.

Must… resist… buying fries and making poutine for lunch/afteroon tea/before work meal. Ah, forget it. I give in.\

Oh, the chandelier was really… sparkly. The centre was sphereical, about two inches across, and projecting from it were these wavy 12 inch tubes. Half of them ended in faceted cystal spheres, and half in little lightbulbs. It really did look like an electrified medusa or jellyfish or something. Gah.

Normally my spelling is better. I hope. ‘crystal’. ‘Spherical’. I still want french fries.

Envy me…I have Boston Cream Pie!! With really dark chocolate frosting. Yum, yum!

Taters, L’il Taters is gorgeous! Glad she had a good time at the dance! I used to love to dress up. Now I’m all about comfort. Sneakers, jeans, t-shirts. But I’m dressing up for Halloween this year–I have a lovely blue dress, and I’m going to fix it up with some tulle and sequins and junk, so it’ll be really fancy. That’s all I’m sayin’–the rest is a secret until Halloween!

Lissla, we need to see pictures of your prom outfits!

I’ve been hanging around here a little bit too much. I had a class last night, and we had to fill out a form with some personal questions (favorite kind of music, things like that). So for my favorite poem, I put “Monkey Haiku.”

I’m ready to go home. I might sneak out a little bit early today. I’ve been feeling kinda yucky this week–not really sick, but tired all the time, and now I have a headache, so I just want to nap. But I don’t have much to do this weekend, so I can sleep for two solid days if I want to, and no one can stop me!

Glad is definitely not the word. I’ll leave it at that. Well, except for saying that you’re lucky you don’t live close enough to find a chandelier on your doorstep one morning… :stuck_out_tongue:

Miss Taterette looks wonderful! You baby is growing in to a lovely young woman!

Last night, my spousal unit decided that we need to attend BiketoberFest in Daytona this year. Yep, I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than drive all day and hang around a bunch of bikers, looking at bikes and bike stuff. Whoopee. Can’t wait. My sweetie really loves his motorcycle and he loves to ride, and there are few things I hate more. But I’ll go and try not to be a grump. much.

In other news, I was talking to my auto insurance company today and it turns out they never got the paperwork saying my daughter took Drivers Ed, so we never got the discount. That’s coming up on 4 years of overpayments. I’m not happy. I had to contact her high school and ask them to fax a statement to the insurance company saying that she had behind-the-wheel training so we can get a discount this time. GRRRRRRRR

I’m so glad tomorrow’s Friday. I need a break.

Taters, your girl look very pretty and sweet in that picture. But when it came up the ad banner across the top said Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale - Shop Now.

Magic Eyes, I do envy you. Maybe. Does the pie have actual vanilla custard on the inside like God intended insted of that &*^%$^ they put in there nowadays?

I used to love me some Boston Cream Pie back when it actually had real vanilla custard and real chocolate frosting and actually tasted good. Now, not so much.

Lissla, don’t worry, we mostly woulda just figgered you Canadians spell things funny anyway. Like those Brits.

I forgot to mention that my Mommy is coming out to visit us on Saturday, and will be staying until the 16th of July. I’ll still be able to post from the shop some, but might be a little scarce for a while. Don’t put your shoes up on the furniture while I’m gone. And no playing ball in the house.

No, no, Bumba. We don’t spell things funny- *you[i/] do. Tsk.

Colour. Honour. Metre. Doughnut. Night. Jewellery.

All tragically miss-spelled by Americans.

Hey Bumba just for future reference us Brits spell everything proper like and our grammer is exceptional!

At least I have Lissla on my side…

Young Miss Taters looked amazing - we never had anything like prom at home in Brit land.
