There is not significance of the choice of April. It is just arbitrarily chosen as a recent month.

Well, like Ethilrist said, I’ve been here lurking for nearly three years now. Just never signed up. This is my first time.
And I found out about it from the Straight Dope site, which I found out from…um…oh, right, another website which I can’t remember right now.
I’ve been refering to the SD site to settle arguments for years, and started lurking after taking a look at a few Threadspotting links. You guys all seemed to be so much fun, and I like to give random unsolicited opinions, so I joined.
I’d visited here once or twice in the past, but never had been a serious “patron” of the site until recently. I learned about it by doing a web search for Cecil after reading one of his books a while back.
About 6 months ago a cow-orker sent me a link to one of cecil’s articles. I took it from there. Hmmm, I wonder if he’s on the boards - must ask.
Just joined last night. I just couldn’t sit on my thoughts and hands any longer!
