There’s part of a Ford commercial I don’t understand: Somebody is driving down what looks like a highway with 3 lanes going in each direction. As a motorcycle passes him on the left, he violently swerves to the right. What’s puzzling is that the bike appears to be pretty firmly in the center of his lane. What’s the message here?

The point is that some drivers don't feel confident that they can see their surroundings in their cars. The driver in the little yellow car swerves as he's over-correcting -- he starts to try to change lanes (note that his left turn signal flashes when you see the camera shot from behind the car), realizes at the last moment that there's a motorcycle in that lane, and dives back into his lane. They’re selling the tech package that includes sensors which alert you to obstacles surrounding your car, which you might not be able to easily see.
