One of the more obnoxious misconceptions non-Japanese have about Japanese porn is that all the really weird shit that’s out there is actually somehow socially acceptable in Japan. It’s not. It’s aimed at a small, hardcore demographic.
I’ve noticed that European porn features anal sex and DPs in virtually every scene. (Ironically, I once had a Japanese woman ask me WTF was up with all the anal sex in Western porn. It’s relegated to specialty videos in Japan.)

Personally I blame Viagra. Before it appeared, there were only a small number of men who could reliably produce erections and perform on camera. And even though a reliable “woodsman” was rare, word got around quickly if they were abusive. This ‘blooper real’ was actually quite funny, and in some ways, more exciting than the (poorly) scripted & acted footage in a regular porn film. Showed them as real people, unscripted and more interesting. And the smiles and laughter certainly helped.

Censorship of sex was (still is ?) a thing in Japan, they weren’t allowed to show anything sexual happening without a huge blur covering the interesting parts. So porn directors had to find ways to depict sex, and prove something sexual had really taken place, without filming actual sex acts.
One of the ways to prove real sex happened on camera is ejaculation. They took that and ran with it.
I once saw an interview of Rocco Siffredi where this came up, and he said the same thing.
According to him, in Italy girls were traditionally supposed to remain virgins until marriage, condoms were Catholic taboo and of course having a bun in the oven spoils everybody’s fun, so boys who wanted to fool around without strings attached would say something along the lines of “if you truly love me, you’ll give me your ass”. So according to him anal is more associated with recreation and youthful idylls than “regular” sex.

So if you take a young woman beat her up and violently have sex with her and film it, it’s not criminal as long as you do it to someone who is sufficiently pathetic or desperate to do it for a couple of hundred bucks. Civilized societies have standards of behavior that are not in all instances dependent on the purported consent of the victim. Reference statutory rape, domestic abuse prosecutions that are persued without the consent of the abused spouse, etc.
