Forgot meds

Again!!
I have a little flip-tab thingie that lets me know YES,you did take them, but remembering to take the blasted things seems to be difficult.
Any ideas for a reminder?

Set a reminder on the calendar of your phone. It will notify you 15 minutes before the time set.

I take a lot of meds, the best method I’ve found is to pair taking them with another routine activity. Morning meds get taken right after I brush my teeth. Noon hour meds are after lunch (if taking food with any are a problem, I set a reminder on phone or computer). Night meds I take right before bedtime.

It’s hard to get into a new routine, but before long it too is routine.

I use a phone alarm too; just set it for whatever time you need to take them.

I stick a knife in the door I have to leave through.

The door is metal
My phone is one of those free ones. It stays off unless I leave the house. It is for emergency only and I’m too poor to afford anything fancier

I thought I had a routine – eat breakfast, take meds… If I don’t see it I don’t remember it. Guess I’ll find a place for the meds on the table sigh That means making a space.

Set your alarm clock?

I had a very hard time remembering to take my bedtime medicine, so I started taking it at supper time with those drugs. The doctor admitted that taking it at 6:00 PM was better than not taking it at 10:30 PM

Could do that, but it’s really cheap, only would ring once a day. I’m not tec savvy at all.

Oh come on.

LOL.

I’ve moved the meds to the table… We’ll see if this works

Yeah,I know:o really dumb,and I never was a blond

Hey, at least you’re pretty damn quick on the uptake. Thank you. Seriously.

Me neither, now I call them senior moments!

I have a tracking app on my phone which sounds off every 15 minutes until I tell it I’ve taken the medication.

I can tune that out for hours. Annoys the hell out of the family.

We have Moon Unit’s medication at her place at the table. She still forgets.

However, the idea of tying it to an activity you do every day at about the same time (e.g. tooth brushing or whatever) is probably the best I can think of.

Is the medication something you can take with you? I personally have pill organizers in a zippered pouch in my purse - so if I forget to take my morning medication until I’m out and about, I can take it then.

Metal door: If it’s something you take in the morning before you leave the house, maybe get a magnetic container and stick the pills in that on the door? (probably less scary than a knife anyway!!).

Well~ Sometimes I don’t leave the house for days… and when it was so hot and muggy I stayed inside for a week…

Something low tech you could do is wear rubber bands on your wrist. If you have to take meds three times a day, wear three of them. Each time you take your meds, take one of them off. You could also snap the rubber band lightly before taking it off to condition your mind that it’s medicine time and then, maybe eventually you could do away with the rubber bands.

Another thing is to attach a sign (or signs, in different colors) to your door with magnets to remind you to take your pills. Make sure the sign overlaps the jamb by several inches so that it will slap you in the face if you forget to take your pills before opening the door. I do this with letters and bills I need to mail. Since it sounds like you have to take pills several times a day, when you’ve taken one set, you can move the corresponding sign below the others and then the top one will remind you of the next set.

So… Pretty much every suggestion made won’t work? Gotcha!
