Well, just for the record, McCaullife is on CNN saying it’s false, yet the AP is sticking by it.
Lemme see. About noonish back in NYC now. No announcement yet. She is NOT going to concede. She is going to wait to the polls close, that is she is going to lose.
(I am reminded of how rich people “give away” money after they die. They didn’t give it ways, they freakin’ died.)
Any news outlet that gives any credence to ANYTHING Terry Mac says doesn’t deserve the appelation.
Either it’s infighting or it’s Clinton-style hairsplitting: she could acknowledge that Obama has enough delegates to win and still not say she’s quitting, for example.
…which is how I believe it’ll go down.
This is the reason why I can’t watch CNN anymore. They have Wolf Blitzer on there who is biased only in the sense that one can be biased towards stupidity. His constant MO is to underestimate the intelligence of voters and overestimate the importance of stupid shit like lapel flag pins. Where people like Chris Matthews will occassionally call bullshit on such stupid arguments, Wolf seems to like to encourage it. I don’t need an liberal bias to my news, I just need a pro-sentient being slant.
I miss Bernard Shaw. He always seemed classy.
Harold Ickes just did an interview on MSNBC saying the same things just as strongly.
::six months later::
Senator Obama has indeed won enough electoral votes to achieve the white house in January 2009, which is why we need your support now more than ever! Go to HillaryClinton.com and remind everyone that I get knocked down, but I get up again and fight on to the White House (clap clap point point)!
Chuck Todd just gave an interesting interpretation of the confusion. He says that there are two Clinton inner circles — a Hillary inner circle and a Bill inner circle — and that what we are hearing are conflicting statments from those two circles. The Hillary circle fighting on, and the Bill circle giving up.
You forgot dopey bug-eyed grin.
It’s time for Obama to twist some arms and get enough supers to commit before his speech. The supers have to see that it is in their best interest to do what Obama asks, and he needs to pass 2118 tonight. Hillary had her chance to be gracious, and it appears she won’t. So it’s time to finally, finally put the fork in. Finally.
Ugh, let’s get this over with… You know, the second I read the news, I felt sorry for her, then terry mac gets on TV and it all washes away. I can’t be the only one, right?
Henry Clay, William Jennings Bryan, Thomas Dewey, Adlai Stevenson, Hubert Humphrey, Richard Gephardt and others ran repeatedly for the Presidency and lost, sometimes narrowly. That’s gotta hurt, too.
He could be asking them to wait until the polls close. It has consistently been his nature to be classy like that, regardless of any political consequences.
Word.
That’s what I’m hoping he does. And even better yet, have Edwards, and Richardson, and (Gore?), and whoever else he can get, standing up there with him as he announces the big block that went his way after the polls closed and the pledged he got. Maybe 2200. With a roaring crowd. Sometimes you gotta claim what is yours, damn the consequences.
I’m just hoping …
Wow. It almost makes me almost feel almost sorry for her.
Noon New York Time. The Clinton campaign has just announced the will not be conceding tonight. How clueless and classless.
Paul. Dude. You really need to keep up.
