This article says she brought it up herself.
Not that it matters at this point. She’s not going to get the nomination and it’s extremely unlikely she’ll be asked to be V.P., so it’s just more pointless posturing on her part.

It makes me happy that there are others who have a really high opinion of Rachel Maddow.
And, adding to your list, her obvious (and admitted) nervousness when taking over for Keith as host is/was quite endearing.

From Salon:
So we really don’t know what happened, seeing as there are conflicting reports.
Well, at least she picked up something from Florida!
First a big band, and now a big had? When will enough be enough?

Chris Matthews just asked a damn good question: why the hell is everybody making tonight all about Hillary when an African-American is poised to win a major party’s nomination for president?
Either way, I don’t see her offer as self-serving or demanding, but as an effort to show that she’s going to be a team player and do whatever will help the Democrats win. I’m not going to crucify her for it. It’s been a bad day for her – probably one of the most heartbreaking days of her life.
maybe…
AND
a big and…
Articulated well.
I still don’t want her as veep but I agree.
Fox News is showing the number at 7. I don’t know why their number is so much lower. I guess DCW is just being more cautious about verification.
In any case, it seems to be coming from every source at this point that it’s going to be over in about 3 hours. I don’t see how HRC has any choice but to concede, unless she’s going to use the tactic of admitting he’s won the delegates, but that the delegates haven’t voted yet.
I suspect she’ll be conciliatory tonight, but stop just short of calling him the nominee (she’ll probably call him the “likely nominee” or something), then she’ll suspend her campaign but technically keep it in storage just in case lightning strikes.
No, you’re sane. It’s everyone else that’s crazy. ![]()
WaPo says that in MT, Schweitzer, Tester, Baucus, and two other supers have all agreed to support the winner of the MT primary. So that’s another 5 supers for Obama. Plus the 16 or 17 he’s likely to net from SD/MT gives him 21-22 on the night.
There’s also 5 remaining in the ‘Pelosi Club’ who will support the winner of the most pledged delegates (Jimmy Carter was in there, but he’s already accounted for), so that’s up to 26-27.
As of this moment, DCW says he needs 27. Looks like the next one outside of MT, SD, and the Pelosi Club puts him over the top for sure.
MSNBC has Obama down to 19.5 now. Is this really happening?
I guess this is what floodgates opening look like.
But… but… Hillary won* the popular vote!!
I get the feeling she might try and sue the DNC if she doesn’t get the nod. God, I hope Obama doesn’t pick her for VP.
*if you count it her way
Obama’s website says the magic number is at 27.5
Andrea Mitchell says (based on inside info) that she won’t concede, but that she’ll stress unity. Whatever that means.
I’m still LOLing at what Chris Matthews said.
They were discussing how Obama could reject a strong Hillary VP bid. Someone mentioned that maybe he could get an assist from some big party guy like Gore. Matthews said, “Yeah, maybe you could get him to lay down the Inconvenient Truth”
Weeping. Copious tears.
I wonder if anyone got the Barton Fink reference…
