The new David Plouffe (Obama campaign) email says “Make sure to tune in to watch Barack’s speech tonight. The last polls will close at 8:00 p.m. MDT (10:00 p.m. EDT).”
Also, if she is a lesbian like I think she is (I have no proof of this), the open flap in the tent would be that much bigger.
And since this thread may be nearing its end, it’s “bloc”.
Relax, folks…any VP candidate is going to be vetted to within an inch of their life, including financials. There is NO WAY that the Clintons will agree to that disclosure, especially of the library donors. He’ll HAVE to refuse her the post, one way or another, either because they refuse to do financial disclosure or because of the financial disclosure.
The Kossacks talk like that’s confirmed, but I don’t dare Google “maddow lesbian” at work…
Where? The article says she made the remark in response to a question from Rep. Velazquez. What should she have said?
The question is what is more news worthy - Obama’s final victory speech or Clinton’s concession speech? If I tune into Clinton to watch her concede and she doesn’t I’ll feel jipped. They will most likely be run linearly so who goes first I wonder?
As someone here pointed out, fantastically (Cervaise?):
Edit: Yep, Cervaise indeed.
What she’s been saying all along – that no way was interested in the job, only President (she was she sure she could rickroll everybody into that happening). That, along with the fact that she has previously characterized the man who would be her boss as totally unqualified for the job.
Maybe he should pick Asiba Tupahache, Native American female from New York State.
Please. Then people would have said “She doesn’t care about the party!” The question was put to her, would she consider it if it would help bring in segments of the party that otherwise it wouldn’t.
Terrible idea.
It would make Obama look weak. It would give the power-hungry Clintons the exact thing they need, more attention. I say, no! They’ve dominated the Democratic party for the last 16 years and it’s time for a CLEAN BREAK.
Plus I don’t want to see her ever again. I know she’ll still be my Senator, but I get to ask for something, right? It’ll be nice to see how she operates as a senator without aspirations to higher office.
While I do think that Obama could manage her and Bill, skilled politician as he is, he needs to cut them off and take his chances.
No more Clinton psychodrama. No more blaming the media / right-wing / left-wing / Barack Obama for their self-inflicted troubles.
I’ll have to say that if Barack Obama chooses Hillary for his VP, i’ll lose a great deal of respect. Not because of the simple fact, but because of the overall implication of him as a person. If he does this, he isn’t who he says he is. I understand he’ll eventually have to disappoint us all with the realities of politics, but he better not start now.
ETA: why would Clinton want to be VP anyway? It’s a very ill-defined job that could be nothing. The only way she should be VP to her satisfaction would be something like in a Cheney role, and I doubt she’d want to be so subservient to Obama. He can’t have a fractured Whitehouse.
She could have said no, but she would stump as hard as she could for Obama (and actually do so) and also rally her supporters around the Party cause.
Agreed. If he does take her (ugh), maybe he could make Bill some kind of Goodwill Ambassador to the World and keep him traveliing outside the country for eight years.
Just wanted to mention, like I said in the other thread, I don’t think she should take it even if offered. She is in a better position as a senator. The only upgrades I can see for her are President or a SCOTUS appointment.
You just reminded me of whom Hillary reminds me of — Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth.
DemConWatch finally caught up. (In fairness, they do a lot of verification and stuff.) They have Obama at 27.5, and indicate that 8 more are in queue, including all of Montana’s supers who will wait until polls close.
Wow. On the money. I’d (thankfully) forgotten about that looney toon.
Hypothetical:
What if Obama has already picked his VP and introduced us to him/her tonight?
Now that would be a typical Obama outmaneuvering for the record books! You must admit though he has managed to take the wind out of Hillary’s sails at just the perfect points though.
25.5
ETA:
That’s 14 (I think) so far today.
But wait, there’s more:
Hillary got a half-vote! Let’s give her a big had.
Did anyone else see that on the MSNBC politics home page earlier they had results from Montana with 100% reporting, with Obama 60% and Clinton 40% and the familiar green check beside Obama’s name. I refreshed the page just to be sure, and it was still there. I just went back to the site again, Montana’s now greyed out and where the percentages were is now “Check back later for up-to-the-minute results” in red. Am I crazy? I can’t be the only one who saw it…can I?
It’d be very exciting, but in terms of publicity strategy it might not be a good choice. You wouldn’t want this move to be rushed, also. I think he’s already agreed to talk to Clinton at least once before she formally withdraws and that’s likely to be one of the issues on the table.
