Fork Hillary 3: The Final Forking

Not to interrupt the conversation between Shayna and cosmosdan, and in keeping with the 3AM theme above, the Bosnia thread has a hilarious clip from Bill Maher about a new video game inspired by Clinton’s Bosnia adventure called Hillary Clinton’s 3AM Call of Duty: Mission, Bosnia.

Too damn funny!

John McCain has responded with a new commercial of his own:

Does anybody know of a way I can save this youtube video before I have to close my browser window and lose it forever?

Perhaps you could bookmark it?

That won’t work because it’s not an active link anymore. The video has been removed from the source website. But since I still have it open on a browser from this morning, I’m still able to replay it. I’d like to be able to SAVE it so I can upload it again myself. I just don’t know how I would go about doing that.

What video are you looking for? It’s not on Youtube?

Sorry, I got confused. When I clicked on the McCain link all I got was the script. I didn’t realize that there was apparently a video there before so I thought you were trying to save something else.

The video was on youtube but got taken down. It’s in her cache so she can still watch it, but if she closes the window she won’t be able to get it back.

There’s a firefox plugin to save youtube videos - I’m not sure what the name is, though. Plus you might have to restart firefox to install it.

The video is stored somewhere temporarily on your system most likely… I don’t know where, but the information may be googlable.

eddyteddyfreddy, I’ve spent almost my entire adult life in Massachusetts, following state politics very closely, and I can honestly say I’ve never even fuckin’ *heard * of Tom Trimarco. But, if his opinion matters to you, you’re welcome to it. I can assure you it doesn’t matter to almost anyone else.

What is this thing you call a “prominent Massachusetts Republican”? I remember reading about them in history books, but I’d thought Romney had killed them all off.

Yep, you have to restart Firefox to finish the install, which means I’d lose it. :frowning:

I figure that’s why I can keep playing it, even though it’s no longer available at the source, but I have no idea how to capture and save it. Bah. I really don’t want them to get away with destroying evidence of the Florida Democrats’ complicity in moving their primary date up.

The file will probably be in your cache file somewhere, but the browsers don’t use naming schemes that are meant to make sense to a user. You can look through the cache directory and sort by the modified or created time, then look at the files from around the time you looked at that page. Take anything that looks like it’s the appropriate size for a flash video file of that length, save it as file1.flv, file2.flv, etc. and then try to play them in a flash player.

Thanks. I did tumble to that…eventually! :smack:

And Shayna…this may not be a workaround you’d be interested in, but can you record it on some other device (cell phone, video camera, etc.) as it plays on your computer?

Indeed there aren’t!

On the ridiculous-o-meter, it’s right up there with Dukakis in the tank.

That’s a great idea. I just don’t have a video camera on my cell phone (that I know of) and the camera we have that takes videos is at home. Perhaps I’ll just leave my computer up all night and come back tomorrow with the video camera!

They can’t deny it ever existed, though, because I took a screen shot of the page where it once resided, which also includes their description of the video, indicating his motion was made in sarcasm and calling it a joke that even Dean didn’t buy.

Lookie here.

Shayna, is this it? I went googling his name…

If it is, somebody save it, before it disappears again. I’m not sure how to do that.

Oh, just some nobody who never done nuthin’. Perhaps you’ve heard of an obscure state agency known as the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority? An appointed state office known as Secretary of Administration and Finance?

Oddly enough, the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly seems to be aware of him. But maybe that’s just because his wife is the chief justice of the Superior Court.

I’m only getting the audio on that, no video, but yes, that’s the one! I’ll try to play it when I get home, to see if it’s just my machine at work that doesn’t want to display the video.

I’ve downloaded a couple of freeware/shareware programs that do video and audio capture from your screen, but so far neither one wants to record the audio. I’ve got the video, but no sound. I’m going home and tackling this later. Thanks for your help!

Haven’t you been paying attention, ETF? States and people who don’t support Clinton are insignificant.

Shayna, I’m getting both audio and video. I wish I could help more, but my computer is not up to the task at this time.

Appointed hacks are thick as mosquitos around here. You know that. The ones who actually carry any *weight * are far fewer. You know that too. Trimarco ain’t one. You know that too.

But I understand how that reality stuff just gets in the way of the fun you’re having here. Carry on.

:smack:

How could I forget? I’m so ashamed.
