Is there any way to determine if email forwarded to you has been edited or doctored in any way? Is there any way to encrypt my emails so that they cannot be forwarded at all? Can they in fact be made to self-destruct after they are read?
I am not computer literate beyond the basics…

If it has beed digitally signed, any changes will make the signature invalid. PGP allows digital signatures. But if the original was not signed there is no way of knowing if any changes were introduced, except asking the author.

In practical terms, not really. If you tell Bob some information, Bob has the information and can pass it on. If you don’t trust him to keep a secret, then better not tell him in the first place.

In practical terms for people like you and me? No. In any case, I do not see the point.
