Four years of undeposited deposits

From today’s Jacksonville Times-Union, apparently the officer in charge of collecting and depositing forfeiture fees couldn’t be bothered to do the deposit part of his job since 1999. Half a million in cash, plus checks and money orders stuffed in a desk.

I guess the sheriff’s office is pretty honest overall, tho. I won’t leave loose change in my desk for fear it’ll disappear during the night.

That’ll buy a patrol car or so.

And talk about a guy who’s not looking forward to going to work on Monday.

Ya think?

Kinda makes you wonder, too, if any went home in his pockets…

I have to say, I’m glad I’m not a Jacksonville resident yet again. That city seems to be randomly managed and run.
