Do any of you grammar and usage mavens have a link to an online copy of Fowler?
My google-fu has failed me.
The first edition of Modern English is out of copyright according to US rules. That explains how I could buy a Wordsworth Reference printed copy of it for only $4.00 a few years back. The last time I looked into it, I seem to recall it was still protected by copyright according to UK rules, which may explain why I haven’t found it online.
