Fox frozen in Danube

Southern Germany has been in the grip of the cold wave that has been sweeping much of the European continent these days. Some weeks ago a Mr. Stehle, a hunter, found a fox who had apparently fallen into the Danube river, drowned, and ended frozen solid in the ice.

Mr. Stehle cut with a saw the ice block with the fox inside in order to dispose of it, although before doing that he photographed it. As the website says, the result is both “mournful but also incredible”.

Quite a sight, I have to say. Poor critter, but… That is life!

Well, no… the other thing.

But yeah, sort of cool in a melancholy way.

I’m horrified that this is called “sculpture”.

It certainly would be out of place at a banquet.

Better name for the sculpture:

“… if you can’t swim the tide.”

I guess in this case, the fox said “BRRRRRRRR!”

“If you can’t stand the cold, get out of the river.”

Interesting in a morbid kind of way. Poor little fox.

Definitely not a fire fox.

Obviously, an involuntary Arctic fox. :frowning:

A stone cold fox, for sure!

So, what happened to the chicken and the sack of grain?
