Fox to air the Final Four episodes of Arrested Development....with disrespect!

ARTICLE

No word on whether Fox will give the cancellation notice so someone else can pick it up.

I hope Fox is accommodating and let’s the producers know their decision soon enough for them to try to catch on elsewhere.

I think they could garner bad will by deciding at the last minute to cancel it.

I imagine Ron Howard is well liked in Hollywood.

Hadn’t an official cancellation been announced a month or two back, or was that just the announcement that Fox was taking AD off the schedule (not the same thing)?

In any case, I’m pretty psyched that they will be showing the final four episodes, and I can see hosting a Goodbye Arrested Development party that night, complete with a menu of frozen bananas, hot ham water, and favorites from Burger King (which really is a great restaurant).

Don’t forget the chicken with chicken sauce. You live near a hospital, right?

I don’t see the conflict with the Olympics as a big deal for AD. Whether they’re up against the Olymipcs or MASH reruns, the show isn’t going to get big ratings. The fans the show does have will be watching regardless.

Choosing between 4 episodes of **Arrested Development ** or the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics is like choosing between Angelina Jolie and Olympia Dukakis.

I never watch the opening ceremonies anyway – they’re tacky and silly. I also suspect most AD fans won’t miss them (and the few that might can tape AD). And since it’s unlikely that any ratings would be good enough to keep the show on, it’s not going to hurt anything.

And mayoneggs! Just hard boiled eggs with packets of mayonaisse.

You could also have Uncle Oscar’s special brownies. May take the edge off the finality of it all.

And if you’re upset enough to curse about it (as you should be), come join us in the Pit!

The only announcement I remember was the episode reduction, from 22 down to 13. I could be wrong.

Anyway, Friday is a better TV night for me than Monday (production and tennis), so I’ll get together with my youngest brother - or Weird Brother of Prime Rib, as I’m calling him - and we’ll enjoy two hours of AD along with some frozen bananas with chocolate and nuts. “Give me a GOB!”

Since NBC’s version of the Olympics is unwatchable, this is a good thing.

At least it is airing.

I hope they have a really good final episode.

What about corn-balls?

Wash it down with a juice box.

It will not if Fox doesn’t cancel it in time to allow another network to pick it up.

I don’t understand. Fox canceled it months ago.

No they didn’t. They simply cut the order to 13 episodes.

They have not yet given the official cancellation notice.

It is a de facto cancellation, but it is not official.

And since when is the ABC or Showtime deals are done deal? It could be all hype for all we know!

With apologies, we’ve banned a previously-banned multiple-name jerk. He had posted here, including personal insults, so we have “disappeared” the post and responses. This is our standard policy in dealing with such trolls – they need to know that all their work and all responses will vanish. We hope that will make them understand that it’s futile to sneak in that way. It does cause a minor hiccup in the historical record, of course. Blame him, not us.
