Fox vs CBS Football "Yellow Line"

Anyone else notice that CBS’s use of Sportvision looked way better than Fox’s in todays games? Any idea why?

My wife and I both thought that the Fox game was harder to see for some reason. They were both in domes and must have been lighted much the same.

We thought maybe it was a combination of the Superdome’s field being a bit darker green, the black Saints uniforms and the Fox cameras being closer to the field so there was less green to pick up

The whole broadcast looked murkier as well. Maybe the Superdome’s lighting isn’t as good.

I noticed on one play that the yellow line was off by at least a foot (or the officials fucked up the measurement pretty substantially). This was the Fox game IIRC.

The Superdome’s lighting probably isn’t great, but a bigger factor is probably that Lucas Oil Field has a lot of windows in it and the game was played in daylight.

The official first down is always marked by the guy holding the big orange marker, the yellow line isn’t. That looked like it was off by almost a yard on that one play.

In addtion to the Fox game being “murkier.” I though the score/time/down graphic seemed fuzzy or something. That could have been my TV, but nothing else seemed fuzzy to me last night.
