I need some quotes from the Framers or their contemporaries (Federalists, Anti-federalists) for a speech I’ll be giving Tuesday. The quotes need to be arguing for and against equal representation in the Senate. Does anyone know of any websites with lots of quote about this kind of stuff, or any easily available books with this specific type of information in them?
Things like this, maybe?
The aim of every political constitution is, or ought to be, first to obtain for rulers men who possess most wisdom to discern, and most virtue to pursue, the common good of the society; and in the next place, to take the most effectual precautions for keeping them virtuous whilst they continue to hold their public trust.
