I, like many others, sometimes peruse the board at work. Nobody seems to mind, but they might if they happen to look over my shoulder and see a dozen sex-related titles up on the screen. One or two I can explain… but come on, it’s not like the Dope is the only place on the Internet to go for titillation.

Ever try to access the SD at a place that uses WebSense? Problem solved. Nobody will see it. And Og help you if you come to the SDMB looking for a way around WS. That thread will be locked down as well. On the other hand, if you can access it from work, maybe you should take into account the POSSIBLE content that will be displayed. Is it really that fucking hard to wait till you get home to start posting/reading? Based on thread titles, sex would be a lesser subject of concern than some we see everyday.

If you’re not supposed to access the site, it doesn’t matter what the content is. Proven by threads I’ve started in bypassing WebSense. Each one shut down. Nothing illegal going on, but shut down in an effort to fight my ignorance in common IT info.

I had to shun the SDMB to fight my ignorance of commonly known (even among my supervisors) knowledge to access the boards from work. I don’t post from there, but I could. I don’t because I never know what will pop up. Oh wait, I 'm allowed to make the choice of sites I go to?
