Many moons ago I read a newpaper article where Frank Sinatra apparently slapped a card dealer in Vegas and received a chipped tooth for his troubles.
- Who was the dealer?
- Where can I find the article?
- Is that dealer still alive?
I always wondered what his holiness had done to the transgressor.
The one incident that I specifically remember was about 10 years ago, when he intimidated a dealer into dealing the cards a certain way.
That particular dealer was a gal, and I don’t think there was any physical contact.
Not long after Sinatra died, though, CBS re-aired a sorta documentary that Walter Cronkite had done on Sinatra back in the mid-60s. It seems as though that documentary might have mentioned another card-dealer incident (from several years earlier, like the early 60s), but I don’t remember the details.
It did happen and IIRC the dealer was in a “car acccident” shortly afterwards . You can find out the details in “Rat Pack Confidential” by Shawn Levy which is a very cool book . I looked through it last night but couldn’t find the details buts it’s in there somewhere . I’ll have another look later on .
