I would think that anything that is done to an unwitting / unwilling wizard is forbidden, and things done between consenting adult wizards are regarded as “weird” but tolerated in the privacy of your own home, same as with Muggles. Muggle examples being: S&M, “suspension” (hanging yourself from hooks in your body), “furry” sex, etc.
Polyjuice potion’s effects are very painful at the time of transformation so I imagine it’s not something you would do casually.
I would be more worried about love potions constantly being served to unsuspecting people.
I had forgotten all about that.
Love the Moses bit…and will forever have a new take on the Gene Kelly/Donald O’Connor song and dance!
I think book 6 showed a lot of the dangers of unethical wizard conduct. Like Katie and the poisoned necklace–with Madam Rosemerta under some kind of bewitching spell. It’s kind of hard to believe that there isn’t more mayhem and chaos in the wizarding world, frankly.
This brings up the question of–if the wizarding world had their own version of the Internet–if you can think of it, would it already be on their Internet as porno?
Along the lines of the old “wishing for more wishes” question: Let us presume that I wish to impersonate Professor Snape. So I brew up a pot of Polyjuice Potion, procure a Snape hair, add it to the concoction, and chugalug.
Well, I’m boppin’ around the castle as Snape for most of the day, taking a swig every hour, to keep me fresh. But now I’m running low on potion. Not to worry, I’ve got another kettle bubbling away on the toilet. Can’t find a Severus hair, though. Is that a problem? Can I yank one out of my own head?
What if I want Ron to join me in some Snape shenanigans? Can he pull a hair out of my Snape-head, and get the Polyjuice Potion to work for him?
I don’t think so. If I understand this whole “turning yourself into someone else for just a bit” stuff, the hair on your head is still your hair. Surely it is the genetic component of the hair/nail that matters in performing the transformation? You are (in essence) effecting a disguise to fool the eye, but not actually fully transforming.
Re wizard porn. The mind boggles, but Quidditch suddenly got more interesting!
