God Hates English Grammar!
Guys, I think if you read pinkteddy’s profile, you might get a sense that they’re having us on. Just saying.
Though I rather suspect the above is not actually a sincere expression of this poster’s feelings, so much as it is an opportunity to get attention, it seems a good place to put this. Fred Phelps was about about as far from heroic as it gets. http://www.vice.com/read/fred-phelps-has-died
is he dead yet?
Where? Is it someplace visible?
Okay, I looked at the html source, and found it buried in there, in a couple of places actually, and even there, not very obvious. WTF is wrong with WaPo that they can’t follow such a seemingly basic rule as to display the date of every article where it can be seen?
Just checking in to make sure Fred’s still dead.
He is? Good.
Carry on.
Yep, checked, he’s still dead. I read that Og sent a supply of helmets and window cleaner to the Westboro Baptist Church.
“Yep, checked, he’s still dead.”
Also, Franco.
Does the law prohibit gathering to celebrate a person’s death (as opposed to protesting against something or someone)?
Brilliant!
That’s a whoosh, right? It’s pretty clearly displayed, right under the photo.
Right above the first line of the article itself.

TOPEKA, Kan.-- The Day-Glo signs are strung out like rosary beads along the walkway to the church. “Thank God for AIDS,” reads one. “Fags Burn in Hell,” says another.
It’s there in Chrome. It’s not there in Firefox or IE (at least on my computer). Weird.
I’m using Firefox, and earlier on my phone it was right there as well. Did not think to check IE.
Nope, missing in IE. Weirdness.
True dat. I’m using Firefox with Linux with Gnome GUI. WaPo articles don’t display the publication date.
Here’s a screen shot showing what I see. ALL articles I see on WaPo are like this, without the date visible. Yeah, weird.
Whoever owns that newspaper obviously knows nothing about how the internet works.
I will admit I saw the comment, recent join date, and jumped to a wrong conclusion. My appologies pinkteddy.
I just realized that now an advantage of a zombie uprising would be the opportunity to shoot Fred Phelps without fear of arrest. (Assuming he wasn’t cremated)
The dates on on the links to the stories in the previous page (like in this case, washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style) but not on the actual stories. Annoying. (I’m using Firefox).
I’m using Firefox and I can see the date in the byline below the picture on the article itself.
I’m running Firefox and can turn JavaScript on and off with the add-on Prefbar.
The date doesn’t show up with JavaScript turned off. When I turn it on and reload the page, the date shows up.
