I’m gonna go out on a limb and say brother 'luc was being facetious, since it really has been mostly male commentators (as RedFury alludes to) who’ve been drooling over Fred Thompson’s masculinity.
And it hasn’t just been conservatives, Red - Chris Matthews was drooling over his smell just a few days back.

Kinda of do myself as well – like the guy. After all I have very fond memories of my years in Canada and Canadians (Montreal, to be specific) and I sort of picture him astride a horse on a recruiting poster for the RCMP. Ya’ know, the stereo-typical man’s man …but when he opens his yap about politics, he really does come off as a real masculine Coulter – if that’s possible. Would it wasn’t so, but hey, long live diversity.
Beyond that, his post about Fred, really does reek of adulation.
