Free Jeep!

No. :frowning: Found this out the hard way.

The “B” word? What happened to this guy?

(post shortened)

You might want to run the VIN and get some history on the vehicle.

CARFAX is one of the companies that offers an internet lookup. Your insurance company can also run a check for you.

Nice find (if the title and VIN are clean).

Yay! Now all you have to do is scrounge an LS1 and scare the Bejeezus out of the next SRT you see…The Novak Guide to Installing Chevrolet & GM Engines into the Jeep XJ Cherokee / Wagoneer & MJ Comanche or build up that 4.5 Stroker. It was on my wishlist until I sold mine…:frowning:

Dude! Now you got me thinkin’. I just happen to have a low-mileage Olds 305 with matching trans sitting in the garage.

Free Jeep? Dude, you overpaid…

What did you do with the internet you won the day you posted that?

Free Jeep Update!

Got the new ignition switch, plugged it in, hit start and it immediately fired up! No weird knocking, no cranking or whining, just fired and idled perfectly!

Cooling system is gungy, and needs a good cleaning, so I’ll work on that. I’ll reinstall the drive shaft and take it for a drive this afternoon.

So far, so good!

kaylasdad, what do you think I did with the Internet? Watched porn!

Went out driving. All forward and reverse speeds, brakes work.

Hard to determine, but I think even the A/C works!

Score! Sounds like a good pre-runner project then!

Dumb-ass kid took this thing out into the Sippy-hole that is the Back Forty and got it stuck in the mud. With the dogs. Almost dark.

I got suspicious when he didn’t show up after 20 minutes and went looking.

If I had 2 foot less of chain, I wouldn’t have got that sum-bitch pulled out of there.

Wait… so you saw an ad on Craigslist advertising a Jeep for free, you went there, did not speak to the owner, and towed it off for parts. Is that right?

I gotta say, I would have some reservations about that.

I thought jeeps couldn’t get stuck? Ain’t that what they’re for?

Gatopescado’s free Jeep is not 4WD.

Oh. Okay. My bad.

What is a ‘sippy hole’? A mud puddle with a straw in it?

A deep mile 'o mud.

Simplest way to clean out the cooling system is to drain it, refill with vinegar, run for 1/2 hour, drain and refill with fresh antifreeze.

A good supermarket sells store-brand vinegar by the gallon at a reasonable price.
