Cry me a river, baby. All the idiot had to do was apologise. Well, not insulting an innocent person in the first place might have helped too…
Sponsors have free speech rights too, and if they’re paying for you to speak for them, then perhaps you should consider that they’re going to stop paying if they don’t like what you say.
She did apologize once advertisers started leaving.
Absolutely. People like to monetize their politics and that gives others a weapon to use against them: take the money away.
I take your other points as well.
For the most part, advertisers are not paying the talent to speak for them but to draw viewers to see their ads. They will tolerate a wide range of entertainment as long as it generates revenue for them.
It was a weak apology, however, that tried to play it off as being magnanimous for apologizing and tooted her own horn about how she had been the first to compliment him.
These are the same people who are calling for a boycott of Jimmy Kimmel right now.
Yes, and Hogg once again showed that he understands media trolls:

“I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight. It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children,” Hogg tweeted Thursday.

That’s fair. Denounce the ad hominem attacks on children, and he’s good. But of course that would be difficult for a troll.
This, this, this.
Yes they are. But that’s different … somehow… or something
i.o.k.w.a.r.d.i.
They were already peddling that self-contradictory shit back during Obama’s first term when he was appointing his own “czars” (not that it ever was their official titles, but of course Faux News acted like it was), like the evil bolshevik soshulist he obviously was. Remember ?
Fox News talking points have been disconnected, meaningless word salad ever since they realized it worked for Sarah Palin. The important part is not the semantic meaning or the logic of it (and I stretch the limits of that word to its shearing point), it’s the triggering of kneejerk emotional responses to flag-words. It’s basically the inverse of newspeak, or newspeak reached from the other way around perhaps.
Not new, though. The first “czar” was Bill Simon, 45 fucking years ago.
Yep. I’m sure she’ll have a new group of sponsors within the week. Or the old ones will silently creep back. Bizzy as usual.
Oh yeah, I know it’s been the informal moniker long before Obama - compounding the made-upness of the “outrage”. But like I said, it’s not the *meaning *of the words that ever mattered.
The MyPillow douchebag proudly sponsors her.
That’s not correct.
The ‘o’ and ‘k’ should not have periods after them. If you mean “OK”, it’s usually written that way with no periods; and if you mean “okay”, that would just be abbreviated “o.”.
I’m orfully konfused, I thought it oll korrect.
O.K. Thanks! ![]()
It may not be correct by the rules of acronyms, but iokwardi (with or without periods) is the standard set of letters.
